宾川明贵酒店

我在这家宾馆住了三个晚上。吉姆是一个很有意思的人，已经经营这家宾馆和他的酒店很长时间了，所以他知道怎样让你感觉更舒服。早餐棒极了——我可以作证,其它的两餐也可以从和平咖啡馆的人数上看的出来。宾馆的一层是和平咖啡馆。我的房间有一个私人的西式浴室，非常舒适，装修是藏族主题。房间也有一个电视，虽然我不怎么看。径直穿过街道，在街的那头有许多卖票的地方，可以乘交通车去其它地方。非常便捷和舒适。

My wife and I stayed here one night when we first arrived in Dali because it was listed in Lonely Planet. Our room was VERY small, dorm style. There was no room for our backpacks on the floor. Our window opened onto the street below, but there was no screen in the window. We paid 240 CNY ($37). The next day we moved across the street to another place. Our room was twice the size, and only cost 140 CNY ($22). Not sure why Jim's is so much more, except that maybe he's listed in the books. Too bad, because the staff was very friendly and the breakfast that was included (30 CNY if you had to pay for it) is amazing!

在the Mingtong Yinxiang Youth Hotel有过一次很糟糕的经历之后(那里的人一句英语都不懂,以至于我发高烧都无法找到一辆的士载我去医院,因为我们说的话他们一句都听不懂)。 在老城见了Jim,他带我们到他的宾馆。我病得很厉害,发着烧,多么渴望能听到友好的声音,有张舒服的床和一顿美味的饭。在这里我的所有愿望都得到了满足。 旅馆就在Dali老城的中部,有着漂亮的房间。餐厅位于酒店下层,提供丰盛的正餐和早餐(中、西餐都有)。服务员很友好。价格可能高了点,但对我们来说物有所值!我们(我和妹妹)感觉就像在家里!Jim是个特别的人很易相处。你一定要尝下他的带蘑菇的酒,很特别。旅馆气氛也很好。 我们一定会再来!非常感谢这里的一切!

Stayed 3 nights. Jim's guesthouse is a little pricier than most accommodations here in Dali, but I would have gladly paid the price for my room with a private bath. It's the perfect size for one person, and so very, very cozy during rainy nights. Beds in Chinese hotels are usually hard - just like sleeping on a block of cement. The beds in this hotel are lovely - soft and warm, with nice soft pillows. Bathroom was clean too. Free wi-fi. Location is at the center of the old city. There's a bus stop right across the hotel, and several travel agencies. There's a shop that sells outdoor stuff right next to it. If you're a light sleeper, better ask for a room at the back as the street is busy until the wee hours of the night. The staff are very nice and try to be helpful, but are on the shy side and keep mostly to themselves. Jim's tours are pricey though. I booked a minority day tour. While it was great to visit a non-touristy part of Dali, I'm still having doubts if the price (roughly 70USD) was worth it. And having that feeling of doubt about something I bought/paid for is something I really don't like.

Great guesthouse! And while guesthouse is INSIDE the old city (so perfect location for all the bars and restaurants and it is just great being in the middle of old town), the Jim's Hotel is outside and slightly more expensive, but guesthouse was perfectly comfortable (both properties owned by the same Jim :) ). Nice staff which speaks good English, fast and cheap laundry service, reliable free Wi-Fi in the Peace Cafe downstairs. Highlight was breakfast that was included in the price of the room, which made it GREAT value for money - all types of eggs, pancakes, muesli, fresh juices - delicious! Ask for the room away from the main street.
